Happy New Year
Well the holidays are over and nothing major to report. It would be nice to say they were uneventful but that is not the case with us. Christmas eve Sydnee and Sierra were sick up most of the night, and Estella and I were up either taking care of them or cleaning it up. Christmas morning was interesting. The girls got up around 8:00 and wanted to open presents so we did. They were so tired they would open one look at it get excited for a moment and then lay on the floor until their turn again. But we made it through and the girls are fine and happy again.

The new year seems to be starting off on the right foot, we got the illnesses out of the way and Charley has not had his car stolen, so at the very least we are doing better then last year.

We hope you all have a Great New Year all year.

A good week

The hollidays are quickly approching, and changes they are comming. To begin with they changed the wards up a bit here in Lawrence. We live two blocks from the old 2nd ward boundry which they moved two blocks on the other side of us, so we are now in the Walkarusa Valley ward. To add to this our little family has struggled to make it on time at 9:00 am for the last year, apparantly we failed the test and have been told we will take it again. We get a six week repreave and get to go, until January, at 1:00 pm then start the challange again for another year. I have always been a morning person but I live with four girls, wife included, that do not like to get up early on the weekends.

The girls are doing pretty good. they got their report cards yesterday and they both did very well. There was plenty of A's from both girls and only minor issues to work on. Sierra, being in virtual, school does not get a repot card, but is still enjoying school and doing pretty good.

Things are finally starting to calm down abit for Estella, her new software is up and running and she doesn't have to be at work for 20 hours a day any more. She will be traveling here soon though. She is still really enjoying her job and the people she works with.

This is a good week. Holiday yesterday, World of Warcraft expansion tomorrow and the new Jeff Dunham Christmas special. A good week indeed.

I hope everything is going good for you and yours.

Something that might be helpful

If you are like me your free time comes in very small spurts here and there. I try read several blogs and a couple comics every day but forget some here and there and get tired of checking for updates to find that none have been updated recently(sorta like this one). I found a helpful website a week or two ago called bloglines. It is great, it allows me to add all the blogs and comics and websites to my list and then it tells me, either when i log into the website or through an application that runs in my system tray, when and which have been updated. It saves time from having to check site all the time only to find that they have not been updated.

Savannah and Sydnee are in Utah for the next 4 weeks, one week down. I have talked to them several times and they seem to be having a blast, I can tell because they don't really have time to talk to me. Tonight Savannah called me not to say hi or tell me everything was going good or anything like that mostly just to ask me to record "Camp Rock" Disney's new movie on The Disney Channel. That is it once I said yes I would record it for her she was done talking to me and wanted to go. Oh well like they say no news is good news I guess.

In the mean time Sierra is really enjoying being an only child for now. The only thing she is having to get used to is sleeping in her bed alone, she is not liking that.

It is a hard thing to put your two oldest daughters on a plan alone and then watch the plan take off into the sky and disappear. I know that they are safe and with people that love them and will protect them, but it is still hard. I have never, since either of them were born, been away from them for more than a couple of days. It will be good for them I know, but i do miss them.

Minor Changes to the Site
I made some minor changes to the site today mostly to logging in and now you can reset your password. Also made changes to the way photos are displayed in the gallery. I am going to make changes to the photo that displays on the home page. I am going to make it display more of a slide show instead of a static image that only changes when you refresh the page. So come in and take a look at the changes.

McCollums.org
Way back when I first registered the name mosmo.net I had tried to get McCollum dot anything, mccollums dot anything and they were all taken. So I signed up for a service that would notify me when and if they ever came available. Well on Sunday I got an email that McCollums.org was available so I got it. For now they are both pointed here so you can either go to www.mosmo.net or to www.mccollums.org to get here. Don't ask why it was only $7.00 to get it so I did, but hey now I can have charley at mccollums.org as an email address, now tell me that is not kool.

School and Other Fun Stuff
OK so school was supposed to start tomorrow here in Lawrence but do to construction not being finished they postponed the start till Friday. They were really nice and gave us a whole 19 hour notice. So the big girls get to wait till Friday to start school, which for them is a real bummer. They are saying that construction will continue for the next month or so but they will have everything so the kids can start going to classes on Friday. They will start the demolition of the junior high tomorrow.

The Simpson movie came out not too long ago and it has had a huge media blitz to go right along with it. Everything from advertizments to 7-11 changeing their stores to Kwik-E-Marts. Burger King is also getting into the act with a website Simpsonizeme.com where you can upload pictures of yourself and others and turn them into simpsons. It is pretty kool. Here is a set of Sierra that have been simpsonized. If you click on one it will take you to the gallery to the fullsized image.

Sierra was the only one home at the time I did this. I will try to get the other girls up here soon.

I have also added the pictures from grandma and grandpa's visit, Sydnee's baptisim, and Sydnee's birthday. They can be found HERE.

Little Late Posting about the 4th
OK so this year GR and Joe got their commercial fireworks licenses. Normally we get together and put on quite a good show, but this year was very good. We mostly shot off 3 and 4 inch rounds. The show lasted about 20 minutes. Here is an 8 minute clip from the show.

We won't go down without a fight!

Last Sunday morning the server decided it did not want to boot up any more. So I built a new one and with back-ups we lost very little. About the only thing we lost was being up last week. But we are back.

Estella's Surgery went very well. The doctor said that there were no problems during the surgery. It went a little longer than she expected but other than that it went good. Estella is doing good, very tired but doing well. I took the girls to see her after she had time to rest for a while. They where very happy to see that see was alright. While we were there Estella was very insistent that she wanted a popsicle and asked everyone of the nurses if they would get her one. After about an hour her nurse called the doctor and the doctor said that it would be OK. So Estella is doing much better now that she has had a popsicle.

Lawrence is infested with ants, little black ants. They are everywhere. We have had them every year and we just put down some ant poison and after a week or so they are gone, but this year we have put down several poisons and they are still everywhere. If anyone has any tricks to killing ants just leave a comment and let me know.

Today was the girls last day of school and they are excited that summer is here. They will be going to gymnastics camp again this summer and they are also on teams for the first year. This means they will be having gymnastics twice a week for two hours each, so they will be spending most of the summer in gymnastics.

Hope all is good with you!
